in order to be believed. This is Dick Cheneny telling the truth on Iraq back in 1994. So Dick ... what changed? You've supposedly said the change was that back then, you were not Vice President. No. You weren't. You were Secretary of Defense.
If you thought Hawaii was little more than a bunch of condo highrises on a beach out in the middle of the Pacific think again. This Kauai-based website offers both a fresh perspective on development in the islands and intelligent discussion of global environmental issues.
I've spent the greater part of today parousing the site.
I guess its true ... actually, probably truer than anything they ever actually printed. But Weekly World News is finally going out of business with its last issue set for August 3, 2007. I will shed a tear ... (I don't know if the website is going down too .. but feel free to take on more peek! I know you want to!)
Maybe this is what we should implement in our prison system. Give them something constructive to do instead of joining gangs. But I guess that would mean we'd have to consider them human ...
Finally something that combines video games and fitness! Sign me up!
If you watch it long enough, it moves.
Moore was on CNN today with Wolf Blitzer. He was absolutely amazing. Watch it here. (Thanks Crooks and Liars for posting the video!)
This is the one thing we all have
The browser experience definitely is one of the biggest reasons to jump on the iPhone bandwagon. Unfortunately for Apple, Opera Mini has beaten them to the punch. The new Opera Mini web browser is able to function very much like the iPhone with full page view and zoom capabilities. I guess this gives me one less reason to dump my Sony Ericsson K790a. (The other being that K790a has a 3.2 megapixel camera, compared to the iPhones 2.0 megapixel camera.) As of now, I'm betting the Sony Ericsson K850 will be my next phone.
UPDATE: Apple has once again expanded the capabilities of the iPhone before the impending launch. The iPhone can now natively view MS Word and Excel documents! Now this is getting interesting.
These guys are great. Very friendly and knowledgable with lots of great advice about getting around the city. They offer gay-oriented activities in and around Buenos Aires. From sailing excursions around Tigre delta to a gay cowboy night waaaay out in the countryside.
Check them out. They can even help arrange a trip to the amazing Iguazu Falls.
From Towleroad: "And now for something a bit different. This is by far the most interesting amateur wildlife video I've ever seen, shot at South Africa's Kruger National Park by someone on safari. It shows a battle between a herd of buffalo, a pride of lions, and two crocodiles." Watch it ... its amazing.
Woo hoo ... I'm starting to get excited for the True Colors concert tour! Of course I'm happy to see Cyndi Lauper, Margaret Cho, and Erasure ... but Debbie Harry, The Dresden Dolls and The Gossip are really the acts I'm excited to see. I really wish Rosie or Rufus were the special guest for San Francisco ... but I guess Jeffree Star will have to do!
For the past month, I've been stuck laying around the house recovering from back surgery. Luckily, I'm healing well and have good time catching up on a few books. One book has proven to be awe inspiring: Al Gore's new book, The Assault On Reason. He present a clear, cognitive science-based review of what has happened to reasoned discourse in this country. It's an easy read and really helps to provide tools to keep the republican spin doctors for fooling you again. (Some thing I learned early on when I got my Bachelor's degree from Reed is that once you understand how you are being manipulated, it becomes easier to fight the manipulation.)
I also hope this will serve has a stepping stone for the Gore 2008 campaign! I've been a long time supporter of Al Gore. I voted for him in the 1992 primary and held fundraising parties for the Clinton/Gore runs. I'll forgive him for the Gore/Lieberman campaign and for taking the high road in his battle against Bush's stolen election.
The Bushies have released a directive on May 9th, 2007, entitled the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive that declares the in the event of an emergency, Bush would be allowed to have unilateral power over the three branches of government. There is no timeline to restore the government ... there is no representation of the other branches. This is not a disaster recovery plan (and I've written enough of them to know). This is a unilateral power grab.
A good overview of the issue can be found here.

While I'm still a Worlds of Warcraft virgin, I must say I tip my hat to "Pretty Pink Ponies" guild. They rock.
It seems to be the year of the funky T-Shirt here at the Manlyhouse. Keith is the current winner of fun t-shirts, but Habibi and I have the market on superhero t-shirts!
Check it out. Its about time the open and affirming churches fought back hard. I love it.
“For the first time, researchers have read the biological signature of a Tyrannosaur — a signature that confirms the increasingly accepted view that modern birds are the descendants of dinosaurs. Analyzing the organic material (collagen protein) found inside the unique fossil linked the collagen to several extant species. The bottom line is that the T. rex's biological signature was most like a bird's, at least based on the first fragmentary data. ”It looks like chicken may be the closest among all species that are present in today's databases for proteins and genomes,“ one of the scientists interviewed said.”
